Thailand

I want a life, where I would shed all my blood and sweat to pursue a dream. Once this dream had accomplished, I would live in the joy and pride. I want to love this earth, friends and family and most importantly my life. I do not wish to live in regret, no more. Admiring others is pointless, I prefer admiration. For now, I need to change, to the person I want to be.

Just return from Thailand. This was different from my usual holiday as I experience thailand, the local way.

Day 1:
Met daddy business associate and his family members before check in. Was glad that the guy I swooned upon since chinese new year was present. Upon closer look, I realised he wasn't that good looking after all. He just know how to dress up and have this mysterious charisma, still cute and thoughtful.

Upon arrival drop off our luggage before having a hefty meal at a seafood restaurant. Day ended with a rest at hotel. Catch a show on global warming and it was interesting. It talk about political versus science issue (means scientist could not report the truth as it would affect the country). It mention on how there was 900 odds journal reporting on global warming but all of them prove that it was a myth (if global warming is fact = lesser manufacturing company = lesser growth for countries). So a statement to summarize it goes like this "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!"

It also mention on frog theory. Frog theory goes like this. If a frog jump into a boiling water, the frog would immediately jump out. But if a frog jump into a water which temperature raise gradually, the frog would not realise it and remain still, until someone save it.

Day 2:
Attend my dad's Thai friend wedding. It was a good cultural exchange. The bride was slim and pretty. Differences were noted as below:

1) They held wedding lunch instead of dinner. Such practices was done so that relatives from other district (often sum up to two hour journey) could return home early and safely after the ceremony.
2) Contributions was given in a form of white envelope instead of red packets. The couple would send invitation card in an envelope with the name on it. The envelope would then be recycled to put in contributions.
3) Meals were served immediately after all the guest at the table (note that it is not that place) had arrived. Which is sort of good as there would not be hungry guest.
4) Instead of topping up the drinks, they swap the glass of drink.
5) After the marching down ceremony, they have prayer ceremony.
6) The parents had to put flower garland for the bride and groom.
7) Their yam seng is short and fast.
8) They have long speech by elders.
9) They have extra step of lighting three candles. Each of the candle represent the groom, bride and the unison of them.
10) They have to go personally to each elder, kneel before them and hand them a cake.
11) They do not have time for their meal.
12) They need not go to each table to have photo taking. Photo taking is done a well decorated booth.

That is all basically, with other smaller details. The groom request his friend to do translation for us. He also employ clowns to do balloon sculpturing to entertain the kids. None can deny that they were good. In fact good was an understatement. They can mix a lot of colour balloon together to form Spiderman, Cinderella and Mermaid. Totally incomparable with Singapore's usual dog, flower and sword.

After wedding we get change before heading towards paragon. Visited the big supermarket and snapped the lays and calibee potato chips off the shelf. Also grabbed a few tins of hello kitty candy and winnie the pooh cookies just for the packaging. We came out with two big plastic bags, mostly stuffed with my tidbits. The cute boy keep laughing at my earnings. It was the last time we met as he had to leave for Singapore. He was on red alert in national service. For once, I really dread national service for it deprived me time off my eye candy. Shook hand and I will remember that take care.

At paragon, found my long favourite pig blood. However, it was badly done. Still i can taste that texture. Totally mesmerising.

Day 3
It was Sunday, so we went to the obvious Chatuchuk weekend market, by train. The MRT there was exactly a replica of Singapore MRT. All the way from the ticket machine, to the gantry, to the tillings and even to the wall clock. So buying ticket was a nut case to me, even if it is in Thai. What different was that they do not issue a concession card but a black chip. This was much convenient as one just need to deposit the chip into the gantry to exit, saving the trouble from returning the card. Another difference was the sign for priority seat. Singaporeans give priority to injured personnel, pregnant ladies, elderly and toodlers. For the thailand they replaced the injured personnel to a bald man with a yellow robe, refering to the monks. Chatuchuk was stuffy bought a leopard shoe, black over sized collar t-shirt, dress, blue blouse and a bag for my laptop. After chatuchuk, we took a cab down to platinum fashion mall to get my three ribbon bracelet and dress.

Day 4
Went platinum again to get another dress and a cap and later to central mall follow by some roadside stall to get hair clip. For dinner we went to some local food place. The ambiance was nice, very cottage like.

Day 5
Went to the local market. It was big, clean and dry. Saw a lot of tai-tais with their maid. The cute boy did a classic thing. He accidentally grab the hotel hanger home and have to pay 8 bucks for it. Home sweet home alas.

From this trip, upon looking at other family, I think I ought to be more thoughtful and considerate. To be nice even though I am down.

Anyway, got accepted by NUS.
